The next time you are in Delhi or Bombay do stop by at House of Raro to add a touch of class to your home. The exquisite opulence of the showroom reflects in the wide collection of swanky décor pieces, wooden interiors, feather fringed drapes, ebony beds with silver sequined cushions and a Laurence Brabant ‘bijou bijou’ Murano crystal chandelier. The place is a design paradise if you are looking for a subtle richness that adds timeless allure to the ambience. From the moment one steps through the leather door with gold leafing, a bold creative statement hits the eye.
Started by two designer sisters Mahicka and Raajeeta Gupta, the store is all about giving a contemporary twist to classic art deco pieces. Raro which means “rare” in Italian, is the perfect name, since every piece in the store is exceptionally unique and exquisite.
These breathtaking handcrafted pieces are designed and assembled in Delhi but the elements come from among the best in the world African ebony, leather from small Italian tanneries, embellished sterling silver. The store also carries a luxury lighting line that includes Olivier Gagnare’s eclectic chandeliers and Patrick Naggar’ contemporary chandeliers and lamps made with shimmering Baccarat crystals.
The sisters believe that every Raro piece has its own identity and adds a distinct presence to a room. They want their customer to fall in love with the design and while selecting a piece it should be something that calls out and makes one want to own it.
